Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Après AI (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates re:Gist, an AI-powered meeting intelligence application available on iOS and at regist.apresai.dev. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use re:Gist.

By using re:Gist, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from the identity provider. We store this to identify your account and communicate with you.

Audio Recordings and Transcripts

re:Gist records audio during your meetings. Where the audio goes depends on how it is transcribed: recordings transcribed in the cloud (Amazon Transcribe) upload their audio to your account for playback and re-processing, while recordings transcribed on your device keep their audio on the device on every plan. It is never uploaded. Transcripts, meeting titles, your notes, and meeting details sync to your account so your meetings are available on the website and your other devices, regardless of plan.

Meeting Context: Notes, Participants, and Calendar Attendees

Meetings can carry the notes you type, the participant names you assign to speakers, and, when you link a calendar event, the names and email addresses of that event's attendees, which the app uses as hints when matching speakers. The app also keeps a list of your frequent meeting contacts (names, and emails where known) to speed up labeling. If you pick a device contact as your own meeting identity (“You appear as”), that contact's name and chosen email are stored in your account settings.

Usage Data and Diagnostics

We record cloud-feature usage (transcription minutes, AI calls, and their metered credit cost) to operate billing and show you your own usage history. The iOS app also uploads structured diagnostic logs (error and event records tagged with a random per-install device identifier) to help us debug problems; these logs never include your recordings and are deleted automatically after 30 days.

On-Device Voiceprints

To suggest who is speaking in your meetings, the iOS app may store small voiceprints (numeric voice embeddings) for speakers whose names you confirm. These voiceprints are stored only on your device, are never uploaded to our servers, and are not shared with anyone. They age out automatically after a retention period, and you can view or delete them at any time in Settings under Privacy → Enrolled Voices (per speaker or all at once).

Payment Information

Subscription and payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We receive a Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription status.

3. AI Processing and Third-Party AI

What the AI receives

When you use a cloud AI feature, the request can include: your meeting audio (cloud transcription only), the transcript, the meeting title, your notes, participant names, and, when a calendar event is linked, attendee names and email addresses (used to help identify speakers). Cross-meeting search and chat additionally send your question and the retrieved transcript passages.

Which AI services receive it

  • Amazon Transcribe (AWS) converts speech to text for cloud transcription.
  • Anthropic Claude (Haiku, and Opus for premium speaker identification) and Amazon Nova models, running on Amazon Bedrock (AWS), generate summaries and action items, identify speakers, answer chat questions, and power semantic search.

How that data is protected

All of this processing runs on AWS infrastructure under our AWS agreements: AWS acts solely as a data processor, Amazon Bedrock does not store or log prompts and completions, and your content is never used to train AI models. Model providers have no access to the data. Claude runs on Bedrock with zero operator access, meaning Anthropic personnel cannot access the infrastructure processing your content. These third parties are bound to protections at least equal to those described in this policy.

Your permission, and turning it off

Cloud AI runs only after you agree to an in-app disclosure: the iOS app asks for your explicit permission before the first share. Cloud transcription, summaries, and per-meeting chat are off by default, each with its own toggle in Settings → AI & Processing; cross-meeting search and the Ask tab are credit-metered cloud features that request the same permission before their first use. You can turn the cloud features off at any time. Recording, transcription, summaries, and chat then run entirely on your device. You can revoke consent by turning the features off, and request deletion of your data as described below.

On-device AI

On-device transcription (Apple Speech), summaries and chat (Google's Gemma model running locally, or Apple Intelligence) process your content entirely on your iPhone or iPad. Nothing is sent to Google, Apple's servers, or us for that processing. The one-time Gemma model download is inbound-only.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and improve re:Gist
  • To transcribe your audio recordings and generate AI summaries
  • To authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • To manage subscriptions and process payments via Stripe
  • To enforce plan usage limits and send service-related communications

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on AWS infrastructure in the us-east-1 (N. Virginia) region. Audio files are stored in Amazon S3. Transcripts, summaries, and account data are stored in Amazon DynamoDB. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard TLS and AWS-managed encryption.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Sign-In, identity provider for authentication
  • Apple Sign-In, identity provider for authentication
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS), cloud infrastructure, storage (S3), database (DynamoDB), transcription (Transcribe), and AI (Bedrock)
  • Stripe, payment processing and subscription management
  • Google Analytics 4, anonymized usage analytics on the regist.apresai.dev website (page views, session duration, traffic source, plus aggregate Core Web Vitals performance metrics, LCP, CLS, INP, used to monitor page-load quality). Does not run inside the iOS app.

Each third party operates under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data to any third party.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Audio files, transcripts, and summaries are kept until you delete them or close your account. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).

8. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@apresai.dev. You may also delete individual meetings and recordings from within the app.

9. Children's Privacy

re:Gist is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy at this URL with an updated date. Your continued use of re:Gist after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
